Strawberry Chairs

Today I discovered 1) a crazy group of people sitting on strawberry shaped chairs and 2) self replicating strawberry shaped chairs!

I'm also the proud owner of a Roman toga (Roman RPing sounds fun!), a derigible, a microlight, some nice art and a monocle (Victorian Steampunk!).

This is what makes SL fun for me.. it's so god damn random!!

Jae Gets A House!

Today I bought a house in the beautiful region of Cedars. It's L$5000 a month (about £10.00). I'll soon be filling it with allsorts of rubbish but for now it's home to a cat named Angel, some sofas and a dreamcatcher.

I've been around a fair bit now, and entered a new subculture... the Tiny Empire players who are just plain strange. But I can see why they play. It's a social game, helping you meet new people in Second Life. It also provides some with a framework for roleplay. It's an interesting little way of life.

Speaking of which... I know all about slave/master relationship and have been learning about Gorean culture but still it was odd when I encountered a Native American male avatar dominating a Native American female avatar in a shop whilst I was buying my dreamcatcher.. it never crossed my mind, being very naive, that such a weird roleplay would exist...

The Great SL Outage of April 2008

So I woke up this morning to find my SL mates "huddled" together in a video/voice Yahoo messenger conference. SL had gone down.

Now there wasn't any complaining, which was surprising considering the amount of moaning a lot of the SL bloggers get through on a daily basis RE: outages. Instead there was more a blitz spirit with laughter, porn and joshing. I signed off pretty quickly and went and got breakfast... amazing how not having SL on made me get all proactive!

I came back to find SL back up and I set about exploring some of the lands I'd been meaning to visit... Luskwood (where I picked up a gorgeous Tiger avatar), the gorgeous Cedars (where I enquired about renting some property... watch this space!) and indulged my latest in world obsession... Tiny Empires. I also got myself a pet cat, which whilst basic is quite pleasing.

Alas it didn't last and after popping away from my computer for two seconds I came back to a worrying message about being logged off by an administrator. SL was closed again...

Talking online with some mates they all suddenly started disappearing back into RL.. car washing, food making... who would of thought! And I too have been off watching telly, reading, going out and buying supplies I've been neglecting recently... shampoo, toothpaste, batteries... Who needs SL when RL is this much fun??

The First Post

Not too many days ago I became a Second Life addict. It happened without my knowledge and, to be honest, I still don't quite understand it.

I'm resident in Gay Zone Germany, where my boyfriend Draco Crane has set up a new clothing store. Whilst he is busy with that, I'm secretly planning a new business venture myself... it won't exactly be ground breaking but I hope a professional presentation will create a market. More on that soon.

Already the drama I have read about around the SL blog community has begun. Some people need to calm down. Thankfully I am but a witness to the drama, not an active participant.... fun!
